Hey there Damien here with an article about one of my favorite Youtube channels. ERB. Or, as Wikipedia explains: Epic Rap Battles of History (ERB) is a YouTubeweb series and music project created by Peter “Nice Peter” Shukoff and Lloyd “EpicLLOYD” Ahlquist. The series pits historical and pop culture figures against one another in a rap battle format. The characters portrayed are often determined by suggestions from viewers in the comments sections of the channel’s videos. Shukoff and Ahlquist write each song themselves, researching the subject in order to find obscure details to use as references in the lyrics.[1][2] As of August 2, 2020, the channel has over 14.6 million subscribers and approximately 3.527 billion total video views.[3] Following an extended hiatus, the channel returned with a bonus battle in December 2018, and the sixth season debuted on April 20, 2019.[4]

Series One rolls you through an entertaining amateur phase in which you get to see Darth Vader battle Hitler, Doctor Zeus VS Shakespeare and even Hulk Hogan VS Kim Jong-Il. Darth Vader comes back in the next two seasons and production grows ever better through the years, as do the performances. My favorite surprise from the series is probably the wide array of musical artists who have become fans of, and participants in, the channel. Including my favorite, the nigh venerable Weird Al Yankovic.
Nobody is safe from the site – and nobody should be. Living, Dead, fictional? Doesn’t matter. The creators Shukoff and Ahlquist choose and match their opponents based on comments on their videos. It’s no holds bars and I love it. My second favorite is the fantastical Julius Caesar versus Shaka Zulu
But I’m loathe to finish this stub of an article without mentioning the war of the sexes as encapsulated into the beginning of time.
